Four Dragons Named All-Conference at NSIC Cross Country Championships

BEMIDJI, Minn. - Four Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons athletes raced to a top finish at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships to earn a spot on the All-Conference team on Saturday as the men's team finished third and the women's squad finished ninth.
The Dragons men's team finished in third place with 86 points, behind Augustana (S.D.) and Minnesota State University Mankato who had 36 and 68 points, respectively.
Kyle Echoff paced the Dragons in the race with a third place overall in a time of 25:48.8. He was trailed by Adam Kne (26:25.4) in 10th place and Mike McConnell in 16th (26:41.3). All three of the top Dragons were named the All-Conference roster.
The women's team took ninth overall of 11 teams with 192 points, just one point short of eighth place Northern State.
Junior Anna VanWechel was named to the All-Conference team as she raced to a fourth place finish in a time of 22:49.9.
Amanda Wickersham, Kari Bloch and Danielle Thompson also finished in the top-50 runners.
The Dragons will race again at the NCAA DII Central Region Championships in Wayne, Neb. on Nov. 7th.
