Former Dragon Pilots Alouettes to Grey Cup Title

MOORHEAD, Minn. - Marc Trestman, a onetime starting quarterback at Minnesota State University Moorhead, guided the Montreal Alouettes to a 28-27 victory over the Calgary Stampeders in the 97th annual Grey Cup on at Calgary, Saskatchewan on Sunday.
Trestman led the Alouettes to a 17-3 finish in 2009 and has posted a record of 28-10 in two seasons as a head coach in the Canadian Football League.
A native of St. Louis Park, Trestman started at quarterback for the University of Minnesota before transferring to MSU Moorhead in 1978. He replaced Ed Schultz as the Dragons’ starting QB as a senior.
Following his stop at MSUM Trestman completed a law degree at the University of Miami and was a member of the Miami coaching staff that captured the national championship in 1983. He later served as an offensive coordinator at several teams in the National Football League, including the San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Oakland Raiders.
