Dragons Add Two, Have Minimal Loss

MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons football program ushered in 2010 with a new coaching staff, the start of the semester and the addition of new faces to their team.

The Dragons add two players to their roster for the 2010 season, both are transfer students that began school at MSUM yesterday.

Kevin Koch a transfer from the College of DuPage (Ill.) will join the team as a quarterback. He will compete for the quarterback position, as the starting role is up in the air.

The 2009 starting quarterback, Zach Fry chose not to return to MSUM after the fall semester. Running back Tim Hanson, kicker Jimmie Mattson and defensive end Jake Johnson also did not return to the squad.

Also joining the team from DuPage, is Eboni Lucious-West, who is a running back.

Koch is a 6'3”, 192 pound, lefty led his team to a 5-5 record in 2009. He completed 147 of 258 passing attempts for 1,707 yards, throwing eight touchdowns and eight interceptions. He also carried the ball 73 times for 152 yard and rushed for one touchdown.

Lucious-West, a teammate of Koch's, also joins the team as a running back. Although he was injured early in the 2009 season, he posted 25 carries for 103 yards and two touchdowns on the ground and caught one pass for eight yards. He is 5'10” and weighs 199 pounds.

The Dragons will announce the 2010 recruitment class on Feb. 3, National Signing Day.
