Schneeberger's 2-minute pin capped off an impressive 35-3 win for the Dragons
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons wrestling team hosted the Jamestown College (N.D.) Jimmies at Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse for their second dual of the season. After a first match win by the Jimmies, the Dragons routed the No. 14 Jimmies with a convincing 35-3 win.

The Jimmies opened up with a 9-6 decision at 157 pounds but saw no more success the rest of the night. Jacob Bennett quickly put an end to the Jimmies lead, defeating Pat Nord by a final of 10-4. The Dragons' 174-pounder Trent Sovde gave the Dragons the permanent lead by defeating Anthony Clay 7-4.

The Dragons pulled away after that with freshman Kody Kalkbrenner winning by a major decision over Justin Hollinghead 10-2. Kalkbrenner's three-point nearfall in the final period sealed his win.

Senior Jon Swart again took his opponent into the second overtime period for the second dual in a row, winning by a final of 4-3 over Aaron Field to start his dual season record at 2-0.

After another major decision, this time at the hands of junior Corey Ulmer who defeated Sean Blumhardt 8-0, seniors Evan Forde and Brady Schneeberger slammed the door on any possible comeback as both wrestlers earned pinfalls in each of their matches.

Forde worked Jarad Miller deep into the match but managed a takedown and quickly capitalized for a pin at the 6:04 mark of the match. Schneeberger jumped all over Zach Pickering, taking down Pickering twice in the match.

Pickering managed to escape right away the first time but had no such luck the second time around, getting pinned at the 2:01 mark. The dual ended on a 12-9 decision from Tyler Steinwand over Brandon Roehrich. Brian Woelfel also outlasted his opponent, defeating Raymond Mosley by a 5-2 final.

The Dragons improve to 1-1 on the season and will get rested for the National Duals on January 8-9, taking place in Cedar Falls (Iowa). The Dragons will begin their NSIC dual season on Jan. 15 when they head to Augustana (S.D.) to take on the Vikings at 7 p.m.
