COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference announced Wednesday that Minnesota State University Moorhead seniors Anne Gusewelle and
Kayla Koenig have been named the Swimmer and Diver of the Week, respectively.
Gusewelle broke the Nemzek Hall swimming pool records in the 50-yard (prelims), 100-yard (prelims) and 200-yard breaststroke records (finals). Her time of 30.37 in preliminaries of the 50-yard was also a new school record. Gusewelle recorded times of 1:06.04 in the 100-yard and 2:26.59 in the 200-yard.
In the finals she finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke (30.93), 100-yard breaststroke (1:08.15), 200-yard individual medley (2:15.21) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:26.59).
Koenig automatically qualified for the NCAA DII National Championships in the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events during day two of the Dragon Cobber Invitational. She scored 414.65 points off the lower board, qualifying by over 20 points. On the higher board, she tallied 431.0 points to top the qualifying mark of 420.
