Dragons Set Up Final Homestand With Big Wins

| By:
MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons wrestling team had their best overall week this season when they face cross town rival Concordia Cobbers and NSIC foe Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs. The Dragons looked too tough for their opponents to handle and won both duals in convincing fashion.

The Dragons got out to an early start over the Cobbers and built an early lead able to withstand a late siege by the Cobbers and held on for a 22-18 win. Senior Tim Johnson got the Dragons off to a hot start with a pin of Nick Nadeau that would give his teammates the momentum needed to push the Dragons over the top. Sophomore Corey Ulmer picked up a big win with only a few seconds remaining in the match. Junior Brady Schneeberger also had a huge night with a key win over the No. 4 141-pounder Ben Anderson.

The Dragons looked even more dominant with their win over Southwest Minnesota State. The Dragons won the first two matches and followed that with a pin by senior Jarret Hall. After the only two Mustang wins of the night, the Dragons crushed the Mustangs hopes with four major decisions to end the dual, including a 16-0 domination by Corey Ulmer.

This week will mark the final home game and end of the regular season for the Dragons. The team will face off against No. 6 Augustana College Vikings on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Dragons will host Senior Night this Thursday as they honor seniors Jarret Hall and Tim Johnson.
