MOORHEAD, Minn. – Minnesota State University Moorhead Head Football Coach Joel Beard and his staff announced Wednesday the addition of three junior college athletes to the 2010 roster.

The Dragons welcome Kendall Hendon, a junior transfer from De Anza College; and junior transfers from Arizona Western, Chad Bimage and Jerard Warren.

Hendon is a 6-2, 185-pound wide receiver from San Jose, Calif. While at De Anza, he was named the team’s most outstanding wide receiver two years running as well as was named to the All-League second offensive team in 2008. He led his team and was tenth in the California Community College Athletic Association in points scored with 9.3 per game, scoring 14 touchdowns in nine games. Hendon also had one touchdown off a punt return last season, returning 11 punts for 158 yards.

“Kendall is an explosive, dynamic athlete that will add a new dimension to our offense,” Beard said. “He is a Division I talent and we are very fortunate that he decided to become a Dragon.”

Bimage and Warren were two-year fixtures in Arizona Western’s defense, where they were part of a defense that led the league in yards allowed per game. AWC’s defense allowed only 54 rushing yards per game and 139 passing yards per game last season.

Bimage is a 6’4”, 250-pound defensive end from Friendswood, Texas. Warren, an NCAA DI prospect, is 6’2”, 225-pound defensive end.

“Chad and Jerard are two defensive ends that are cut from the same mold,” Beard said. “They both are extremely athletic and will take our defense to the next level. They both have great attitudes and focus that will fit perfectly into the culture of our football team.”

These three athletes join a class that boasts 9 junior college transfers and 11 freshman. The Dragons coaching staff has recruited 20 new players for the 2010 squad and will continue to recruit through this spring.
