MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Dragon Fire Walk for Athletics eclipsed the $100,000 mark Monday morning as the week opens with the Walk the Dragon event on Minnesota State University Moorhead’s campus.

The Dragon Fire Walk for Athletics is the largest annual fundraiser dedicated to student-athlete scholarships and will take place on Saturday, April 17.  As of noon on Monday the total funds raised was over $100,000, well on the way to the goal of $150,000.

The week begins with the annual Walk the Dragon event brought to the campus by the MSUM Bookstore. Walk the Dragon' is an opportunity to raise money through the MSUM Bookstore by walking a six-site route throughout the week leading up to the Dragon Fire Walk for Athletics. For every completed route, $3 will be donated to the Athletics Scholarship Fund by the MSUM Bookstore, with a goal of $5,000. And, with five completed routes, you can receive a free "I walked the Dragon" t-shirt.

To begin the walk and get your route stamp card, visit the MSUM Bookstore or Athletics Department during normal business hours Monday-Friday.
