MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Athletics Department and Great Plains Integrated Marketing announced a three-year partnership to broadcast Dragons football and men's & women's basketball beginning in the fall of 2010. The announcement was made at MSUM on Thursday. All of the Dragons games will be broadcast on 106.9 the Eagle (KEGK-FM).
The station has consistently been one of the top-five ranked station in the Fargo-Moorhead area. On Saturday's, from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. (the time in which most Dragons broadcasts will occur), the Eagle is ranked second in the latest Arbitron ratings among listeners ages 25-64.
“Working with one of the top stations in the area has always been a priority for us,” Athletics Director
Doug Peters said. “Partnering with Scott Hennen's group, specifically with the Eagle, was a natural move for us.”
The Eagle has not partnered with a collegiate athletics department in the eight-year history of the station. The FM station's reach is north of Mayville, west of Valley City, south of the North Dakota border and west of Detroit Lakes and Fergus Falls.

The broadcasts will begin with Dragons Football in the fall, as MSUM opens up at Missouri Southern on August 26 at 6 p.m. In addition to being heard on 106.9 FM, all of the broadcasts will be web-streamed through www.theeagle.tv
The broadcast will also provide the audio track to the free live video streaming through www.msumdragons.com and the Penn Atlantic network.
