ST. PAUL, Minn. - Thirty-two Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon student-athletes were named to the spring Academic All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference team, announced on May 27.
To be eligible for this honor, the student-athlete must be a member of the varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or better. Furthermore, the athlete must have reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, red-shirt freshmen and ineligible athletic transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
The list of Dragons included four softball players, eight men's outdoor track athletes, 13 women tracksters, four tennis players and three golfers.
The softball team members included Amanda Hoefer, Katherine Howland,
Molly Keeler and
Simone Parcells.
The men's and women's track team members were: Kristina Anderson, Kirby Black, Kari Bloch, Lindsey Ecklund, Scott Egeberg, James Fay, Kari Gaebel, Ashley Hagen, Erik Hanson, Amy Hellickson, Jasmine Henrich, Travis Husen, Michelle Jetvig, Aaron Lund, Katie MacRae, Chad Peck, David Teige, Danielle Thompson, Anna VanWechel, Jacob Vossler and Amanda Wickersham.
The tennis team boasts
