EDMOND, Okla. - The latest NCAA Division II wreslting rankings released on Wednesday, Jan. 25 have Minnesota State University Moorhead's
Corey Ulmer placed at No. 2 in the country in the 125-weight class. Ulmer, with a 15-2 record, trails only Kyle Pedretti of Upper Iowa in the rankings.

Corey Ulmer solidified his No. 2 ranking in the DII 125-weight class by earning two wins in dual matches this past week. In Minneapolis on Tuesday, Jan. 17, Ulmer faced off with Mike Fuenffinger of Augsburg College. Ulmer used a quick takedown on Fuenffinger to gain a 2-0 lead followed by an escape. Fuenffinger notched a takedown of his own to grab a 3-2 lead, but Ulmer responded also with an escape. Almost a minute later Ulmer took his opponent down again to grab the lead that would stick throughout the match. The final score of the first match would stand at 10-6.
Saturday, Jan. 21, Ulmer faced off against the No. 1 ranked St. Cloud State's Dylan Wright. Ulmer had a takedown in the first period, a reversal and escape in the second period, and a takedown in the third period which resulted in a 7-4 decision over Wright. Ulmer's individual record improved to 15-2 on the season.
The Dragons face off against the Marauders of the University of Mary Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. in Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse and again at home Friday, Jan. 27 at 7 p.m. against the Beavers of Minot State.
