Dragons Track & Field Picking Up Where They Left Off

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's track and field team dropped one spot in the latest USTFCCCA NCAA Division II national team rankings to No. 21. The Dragons are the highest ranked NSIC team, followed by the No. 23 Minnesota State Mankato Mavericks.

Many Dragons have already individually qualified for the 2011-12 Indoor National Championships.  They include: Uchenna Ogbonnaya in the 60m dash with a season best of 6.95; Laquone Robinson in the heptathlon and the 60m hurdles with a season best of 4997 and a time of 8.06, respectively; Derek Bredy in the 60m and the 200m with season best of 6.86 and 22.02, respectively; Ryan Olson, Austin Dennis and Ryan Barnes all in the high jump with their season bests of 6' 8 ¼”; and the men's 1600m relay team comprised of Lincoln Arnold, Ryan Olson, Cory Shufelt and Aaron Lund, qualifying with a time of 3:18.1.

The Dragons track and field team competes next on Saturday, Jan. 28 at the Cobber Open with events starting at noon.
