BURNSVILLE, Minn. - Derek Bredy has been voted Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference men's track athlete of the week with his performances this past weekend at the University of Minnesota's Jack Johnson Classic and the St. Thomas Invite.
Hoffman, Minn. native Derek Bredy is the second Dragons track student-athlete to earn the NSIC player of the week, joining Laquone Robinson who earned the honor on Dec. 6. Bredy started his weekend with two first places finishes at the St. Thomas Invite in the 55m and the 200m with times of 6.42 and 22.04, respectivley. He followed up that performance by winning the Jack Johnson Classic 60m dash with a time of 6.86. Bredy is now tied for eighth in the country.
Watch Bredy and the rest of the Dragons compete Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Cobber Open with events starting at noon.
