Senior Dragons to be Honored on Feb. 25

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Minnesota State Universty Moorhead Dragons will be honoring their winter season senior student athletes on Saturday during the Women's Basketball game.  Dragons Athletics will be saying farewell to sixteen seniors at the end of the season, many after four years of dedication to their sports.
 
CHEER
Lindsey Satre is the lone senior on the Dragon cheer team this season. The Hoffman, Minn. Native is a four-year letter winner with the Dragon cheer team. She is the daughter of Matt and Cynthia Rebering and Tom Satre, majoring in elementary inclusive education with a minor in special education.
 
WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Angie Jetvig is a 6'2” forward from Hawley, Minn. She is a four-year letter winner with the Dragons majoring in health service administration. She is second in scoring in the NSIC with 17.8 points per game and leads the conference with 10.4 rebounds per game. Jetvig has officially become the second all-time leading scorer in Dragon history with 1,499 points thus far. She is ranked second for blocks in a career with 110, and ranks high in other stat categories. Earlier this season she was posted career-high numbers with 31 points and 18 rebounds. Jetvig is the daughter of Lisa Jetvig and the late Steven Jetvig.
 
Brittany Mayclin came to the Dragons in her sophomore year after spending one season at North Dakota State College of Science. Mayclin averages 6.3 points per game this season, tallying up 460 in her career as a Dragon. Earlier this season she posted career high numbers against the University of Mary with 20 points and eight assists. The Bemidji, Minn. native is the daughter of Tim and Lora Mayclin, and is majoring in education.
 
MEN'S BASKETBALL
Charlie Chapman came to the Dragons in his junior year after playing two successful seasons at Williston State. Chapman is second on the team in scoring with 13.8 points per game. He leads the team and is second in the conference with 3-pointers made with 63 this season. Chapman hit his career-high 23 points twice this season. He has posted 663 career points as a Dragon. Native to Harland, Wisc., Champman is the son of Joan and Keith Chapman and is majoring in Business.
 
Jake Driscoll came to the Dragons from Glyndon, Minn. This season he is averaging 5.8 points per game. Driscoll hit his career-high last year with 26 points against Minnesota Duluth. He is first in the record books for 3-point attempts and second in 3-pointers made with 194; he is seventh in the conference with a 3-point field goal percentage of 44 percent. Earlier this season Driscoll became a member of the 1,000-point club, with 1,088 points in his career thus far.  He is majoring in business and is the son of Tari and Mike Driscoll.
 
DJ Hamilton transferred to MSUM after two seasons at Central Arizona College. Hamilton leads the Dragons and is 11th in the conference in scoring with 14.5 points per game. He leads the team and is fifth in the conference in assists with 3.67 per game. Earlier this year he posted his career high of 34 points against Bemidji State University. Hamilton has logged 571 career points as a Dragon. He is an undeclared major and the son of Tonya and Darren Hamilton.
 
Andrew VanHavermaet is a 6'4” guard from Hawley, Minn. He is averaging 6.5 points per game, is fourth on the team and 10th in the conference for shooting 43 percent from behind the 3-point arc, he is fourth in school history for 3-point attempts and right behind Driscoll for third in school history for 3-pointers made with 180. VanHavermaet has totaled 730 points is his career as a Dragon. His career-high 30-point performance came in his sophomore season. He is majoring in exercise science and is the son of Dale and Jane VanHavermaet.
 
Xavier Reed came to the Dragons from Brooklyn Park, Minn. He is a key defensive player and rebounder for the Dragons. He is averaging 2.3 points and 2.1 rebounds per game. His career-best performance came in his sophomore season, scoring 17 points, going 6-of-6 from the field. He has contributed 469 points and 256 rebounds in his Dragon career. Reed is a communication studies major and the son of Tony and Janice Reed.
 
Jimmy Johnson transferred to the Dragons last season from Augsburg University. After redshirting last season he has been a significant defender and rebounder for the Dragons. He is majoring in criminal justice and the son of Monica and Jerry Johnson.
 
SWIMMING and DIVING
Claire Anderson is a middle-distance swimmer specializing in the individual medley and butterfly.  This season at the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Championships, she finished seventh in the 200 butterfly and was a member of the fourth-place finishing 200 medley relay team and 400 medley relay team. Anderson is a social work major with an emphasis in Gerontology. She is the daughter of Mary and John Caron.
 
Jessica Belden is a sprinter and middle-distance swimmer for the Dragons specializing in the individual medley, butterfly and distance frees. This year she a member of the fourth-place finishing 400-medley relay team and the fifth place 800-free relay team. Belden is a member of the 800-free relay team that holds the school and Nemzek pool record. She is a pre-social work major and the daughter of Keith and Debbie Belden
 
Tara Cherry is a distance swimmer specializing in distance free races. She is a Missoula, Mont. native majoring in music education. She is the daughter of Russ and Diane Cherry.
 
Jessica Doar is a middle-distance free specialist for the Dragon swim team. This year she finished seventh in the 1,000-free and 10th in the 100-fly and the 500-free at the RMAC Championships. She is a member of the 800-free relay team that holds the MSUM school and Nemzek pool record. She is also the school record holder in the 500, 1,000 and 1,650-free races. She is an undeclared major and the daughter of Vicki and Dan Doar.
 
TENNIS
Alyse Grelson is a two-time All-NSIC selection. She is a business administration major and the daughter of Mark and Patricia Grelson.
 
Kayla Huether is a two-time All-NSIC selection and was named the NSIC freshman of the year in her first season at MSUM. She is an exercise science major with minors in coaching and strength and conditioning. She is the daughter of Jim and Kim Huether.
 
Kathryn Neubauer is majoring in psychology and the daughter of Jim and Juile Neubauer.
 
The Women's Basketball game starts at 4 p.m. on Saturday in the Alex Nemzek Fieldhouse, followed by the Men's Basketball game at 6 p.m. with the Fill the Fieldhouse festivities.
