BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Northern Sun released the 2012 All-NSIC Team Wednesday, May 2 that included seniors Kayla Huether and Alyse Grelson.  Huether and Grelson earned All-NSIC second team honors for their doubles action while Huether was named the NSIC Senior of the Year as well as to the All-NSIC first team.

Huether was voted by the league coaches as the NSIC Senior of the Year. She earned her first double-digit season win total for the Dragons in 2012 while starting in the No. 1 spot. Huether (10-6) began the season 4-0 and totaled wins against three of the top ten NSIC No. 1 women. The senior helped the Dragons make a late push for the NSIC postseason while she won six of the last seven singles matches of the regular season.

Grelson and Huether finished the season 8-9. The duo won three of four matches two times during the season. They also finished the regular season by taking two of the last three matches including a final day win to help the team qualify for the NSIC Tennis Tournament.

Huether has been an All-NSIC team selection in all of her four seasons at Minnesota State University Moorhead.  She earned a spot on the All-NSIC first team the past two seasons and second team her freshman campaign.  Huether has also been named to the All-NSIC second team twice and the honorable mention once for her doubles action with partners Grelson and Kathryn Neubauer.  Huether's NSIC Senior of the Year award compliments her NSIC Freshman of the Year selection in 2009.
