NSIC Release
BURNSVILLE, Minn. -- A total of 24 student-athletes from Minnesota State University Moorhead have been named to the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference's Spring All-Academic Team, it was announced on Wednesday.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must be a member of a varsity traveling team and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher. The athlete must have also reached sophomore athletic and academic standing at her/his institution (true freshmen, redshirt freshman and first-year transfers are not eligible) and must have completed at least one full academic year at that institution.
Men's outdoor track and field led the way for MSUM with eight athletes being named to the team: seniors
Derek Bredy and
Clayton Foster, juniors
Spencer Ruebke and
Dan Sederquist and sophomores
Nate Cole,
Jackson Henrich,
Kyle Kastello and
Beau Scheving.
Dragon women's outdoor track and field had six athletes earn the award: seniors
Nicole Hall,
Jessica Keesling and
Heather Schultz, juniors
Kelly Brammer and
Kara Nygaard, and sophomore
Erin Sistad.
Four Dragon softball players earned honors: senior
Amanda Moore and sophomores
Taylor Huss,
Amanda Lynch and
Rachel Sannicandro.
Four golfers earned the honor: senior
Amanda Northwick, junior
Jennifer Kurtz and sophomores
Megan Amundson and
Shannon Deutsch.
Two MSUM women's tennis players were named to the team: junior Kaitlyn McNary and sophomore
Jenna Galstad.
Including the fall and winter seasons, MSUM had 85 student-athletes named NSIC All-Academic.
