Brian Huber each won two events to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the North Dakota State Bison Classic which was held Saturday in Fargo, N.D.
Brian Huber No team scores were kept. MSUM had four NCAA provisional qualifying performances on the day.
Huber had a pair of NCAA provisional qualifying performances in his two victories. He won the high jump at 6-8, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying height. He also won the long jump with a jump of 23-7 1/2, which is also an NCAA provisional qualifying mark.
Demus had a strong day for MSUM, winning the 60-meter dash in 7.00 and claiming the 200-meter dash at 22.38.
MSUM's 4x400 relay won with an NCAA provisional time of 3:19.06. That consisted of senior
Keith Turner, senior
Kenny Andri, senior
Matt Loehr and senior
Ryan Olson.
Olson was third in the 200 in 22.65, junior
Andrew Werk was seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 55-5, which was a personal-best.
For the women,
Molly Montonye was second in the mile in 4:58.95, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying time. She finished only behind Division I foe Erin Teschuk of NDSU.
Senior
Chelsea Klemetson tied for fourth in the high jump at 5-3. Freshman
Caroline Jansen was sixth in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.55 and also sixth in the triple jump at 36-5.
Senior
Tia Knight was sixth in the 200-meter dash (26.46) and sixth in the 60-meter dash (7.83).
Sophomore
MaKenzie Smith was sixth in the 3,000-meter run in 10:40.58 while sophomore
Alissa Mears was sixth in the 600-meter run in 1:38.60.
MSUM is back in action on Jan. 23-24 at the Minnesota State Open in Mankato, Minn.
