Keith Turner ran an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 400 to lead the way.
Keith TurnerKnight had an outstanding run in the 60-meter hurdles. She took second with a school-record time of 8.58, which is the fourth-best in the nation and fastest in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season. Knight was also eighth in the 60-meter dash in 7.99.
Junior
Molly Montonye was second in the mile in 4:56.37, which was a new personal best. Junior
Emily Mammenga was 10th in 5:08.06 which was also a personal best.
Sophomore
Alissa Mears was ninth in the 800-meter run in 2:16.44. Sophomore
Katrina Mellegard was 13th in the weight throw at 49-3 3/4. Freshman
Bailey Reiner was 15th in the triple jump in 34-5 1/2. Freshman
Shayla Munson was 15th in the women's shot put in 39-5 3/4.
For the Dragon men, Turner was sixth in the 400-meter dash (university) in 48.67, which is a NCAA provisional qualifying time and the third-fastest all time in school history. It is also the second-fastest time in the NSIC this season. Senior
Ryan Olson was 14th in that race at 49.40.
Junior
Kenny Andri was fifth in the open 400 meter dash in 49.42. Sophomore
Brady Speicher ran a personal-best time of 4:18.50 to finish seventh in the mile.
Redshirt freshman
Brian Huber was seventh in the high jump at 6-4 1/2. Junior
Beau Scheving was ninth in the shot put at 50-2 3/4. Werk is 12th in the shot put at 47-2 1/4.
Senior
Nate Cole and sophomore
Devin Strack tied for 17th in the triple jump at 42-6 3/4.
On Sunday, MSUM will send five male athletes –
Steve Jonas,
Marshal Pederson,
Mitchell Ruebke,
Jaden Radcliffe and Dan Mushel – and freshman
Caroline Jansen to the multi-event portion of the NSIC Championships. That will take place in Mankato, Minn. MSUM will compete at the Bemidji State Twilight on Thursday and at the University of Minnesota on Friday (women only) and Saturday (men only).
