Dragon Track and Field Kicks Off Outdoor Campaign at Washington Invitational in St. Louis

Meet Information
MOORHEAD, Minn. -- The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field program will send a small contingent of athletes to the Washington University Invitational, which begins on Friday in St. Louis, Mo. The meet mark the opening of the outdoor season for the Dragons.

The Dragons' first full-team event outdoors is scheduled for the Vance Butler Invitational in Sioux Falls, S.D. on April 3.

MSUM is coming off of a successful indoor season which saw the Dragons have two All-American (senior Chelsea Klemetson and junior Molly Montonye) while sending five individuals and a relay to nationals.

The Dragons also had a good showing at the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Indoor Championships in February. The Dragons had six conference champions -- senior Keith Turner (600-meter run), senior Ryan Olson (400 meters), redshirt freshman Brian Huber (long jump) and the distance medley relay won crowns for the men, while senior Tia Knight (60-meter hurdles) and Chelsea Klemetson (high jump) were victorious for the women. MSUM had 10 all-conference performances (including relays) at the event.
