ST. LOUIS, Mo. – Freshman
Caroline Jansen won the women's triple jump to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the opening day of competition at the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis, Mo. The meet is the outdoor debut for the Dragons.
Jansen rolled to the win in the triple jump with a mark of 36-7 3/4, winning the event by more than two feet. Freshman
Bailey Reiner was third in that event at 33-5 3/4.
On the men's side, sophomore
Devin Strack was third in the triple jump at 43-9 3/4. Senior
Jason Dowell ran a personal-best time of 14:50.58 to place 22nd out of 150 runners in the men's 5,000 meters.
Saturday is the final day of competition at the meet.
