Meet ResultsABERDEEN, S.D.—The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams won 15 events at the Northern State Open on Saturday in Aberdeen, S.D. The Dragon men won eight events while the women claimed seven on the day.
Tia KnightNo team scores were kept at the meet, which was held with a 30 mph south wind. Eight different Dragon men won events, while seniors
Chelsea Klemetson and
Tia Knight led the way for the MSUM women.
Senior
Beau Scheving won the men's shot put at 48-6 3/4, which is the fifth-best throw in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season. Junior
Andrew Werk won the hammer throw at 165-8.
Senior
Kenny Andri won the 400-meter dash in 49.85; that time is fifth-best in the NSIC this season.
Senior
Spencer Ruebke won the 3,000-meter run in 8:50.10 with sophomore
Cody Christ in second at 8:54.40.
Sophomore
Adam Hanson won the 110-meter hurdles in 15.85. Senior
Nate Cole won the triple jump in 43-3 1/4.
Freshman
Jordan Feder won the men's high jump at 6-0 while sophomore
Brandon Selbig won the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 10:31.59.
Klemetson had a strong showing for the Dragon women. She won the high jump with an effort of 5-7 1/4, which is an NCAA provisional qualifying height.
Knight won the 100-meter dash in 12.08, which is second-fastest in the NSIC this season, and added a win in the 200-meter dash in 24.96, which is third-fastest in the NSIC this year.
Junior
Molly Montonye won the 800-meter run in 2:17.23. That is the fastest time in the NSIC this season. Sophomore
Alissa Mears won the 400-meter dash in 58.61, which is fourth-fastest in the NSIC this season.
Freshman
Caroline Jansen won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.34 while the MSUM 4x100 relay won with a time of 48.22.
Freshman
Shayla Munson was second in the discus throw at 129-6 and second in the shot put at 39-1 1/4.
Junior
Emily Mammenga was second in the 1,500-meter run in 5:01.54.
MSUM will send a contingent of athletes to California next week for competition next week. MSUM will compete at the Mt. SAC Relays, the Azusa Pacific Invitational and the Long Beach Invitational, starting on Thursday.
