Meet ResultsLONG BEACH, Calif. – Strong performances from redshirt freshman
Brian Huber and
Spencer Ruebke lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the Long Beach Invitational on Saturday in Long Beach, Calif. The meet wrapped up the California trip for MSUM.
Spencer RuebkeHuber had MSUM's best finish of the day, taking second in the long jump with an outdoor personal-best of 23-8. That is the best jump in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season.
Ruebke had a solid performance for the second straight day. He was 13th in the 1,500-meter run in 3:51.50, which was a personal-best and NCAA provisional qualifying time. That is the fastest time in the NSIC this season. Sophomore
Brady Speicher was 23rd in 3:53.98. Ruebke also ran a personal-best of 1:54.54 in the 800-meter run.
Senior
Andrew Werk was 16th in the hammer throw with a toss of 159-5 1/2. Junior
Beau Scheving was 25th in the shot put at 49-7. Senior
Ryan Olson was 28th in the 200-meter dash in 22.15.
For the Dragon women, senior
Chelsea Klemetson was 11th in the high jump at 5-7.
Junior
Molly Montonye was 12th in the 1,500-meter run at 4:28.36. She ran a 4:28.00 on Friday and is ranked first in the NSIC in that event.
Senior
Tia Knight was 35th in the 100-meter hurdles at 15.18 and 39th in the 200-meter dash in 25.12. Sophomore
Alissa Mears was 41st in the 800-meter run at 2:13.90.
The next scheduled meet for MSUM is Tuesday at the Cobber Twilight Meet hosted by Concordia College. Competition that day is set to begin with the field events at 3 p.m. and the track events at 4 p.m.
