Molly Montonye ran a season-best time in the 1,500-meter run to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the Drake Relays on Saturday. MSUM also sent a large contingent of athletes to the Al Cassell Relays in Jamestown, N.D., and captured five victories.
Competing at the prestigious Drake Relays in Des Moines, Iowa, Montonye ran a season-best time of 4:27.62 in the 1,500-meter run and placed eighth, ahead of runners from Division I schools Drake and South Dakota. That is the fastest time in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season.
Also competing at Drake on Friday, MSUM's 4x400 relay was 17th in 3:15.70. That consisted of

Tia Knight was 21st in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.53. Senior
Chelsea Klemetson competed in the women's high jump but did not clear her opening height and did not place.
At the Al Cassell Relays, freshman
Josh Young won two events to lead the way. He won the 800-meter run in 1:59.14 and also won the 1,500-meter run in 4:06.92.

Beau Scheving was second in the shot put at 49-6 1/2. Freshman
Jay Biwer was second in the 5,000-meter run in 16:51.9.
Adam Hanson was third in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.91 while freshman Steve Adjokatcher was third in the triple jump in 44-11 1/2.
For the Dragon women, freshman
Judith Robinson won the 100-meter dash in 12.68 and added a third-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 26.29.

Emily Mammenga won the 1,500-meter run in 4:56.58.

Jasmine Nelson was second in the 400-meter dash in 59.80.
Mindy Kraft was second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 12:12.70. MSUM's 4x100 relay was second. That consisted of sophomore

Bailey Reiner was second in the long jump at 16-11 1/2 while
Iveta Harner was third in the 800-meter run in 2:22.66.
MSUM is scheduled to compete at the Cobber Twilight on Tuesday. The Dragons will host the annual Masanz Classic on Saturday, May 2.
