Klemetson 10th in High Jump at NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Minnesota State University Moorhead senior Chelsea Klemetson finished 10th in the women's high jump at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Friday in Allendale, Mich.

Competing at the national meet for a third time, Klemetson posted a jump of 5-7 to finish in 10th. She cleared the first height of 5-3, and then followed with a jump of 5-5.  The Sabin, Minn., native then cleared 5-7 on her third attempt.

Klemetson was unable to clear 5-8 on three tries and finished 10th.

In her two-year Dragon career, Klemetson finished with three trips to the national meet (one indoor, two outdoors) and earned All-American honors in the high jump last March. She was the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference champion in the high jump during the 2015 indoor season and earned three All-NSIC honors in that event for her career.

Junior Molly Montonye will run in the women's 1,500-meter run finals (1:25 p.m.) on Saturday while redshirt freshman Brian Huber will also compete in the men's high jump at 1:05 p.m..
