Cody Christ, sophomore
Alissa Mears and the men's 4x400 relay team paced the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the final day of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships, which were held at the USF Complex in Sioux Falls, S.D. The MSUM men finished third with 84 points while the women finished in sixth at 72.
Christ had a record-setting performance in the 5,000 meters to claim the first NSIC title of his Dragon career and cap off an impressive weekend for the MSUM distance corps. Christ set a new meet record of 14:40.42 to win the event by more than seven seconds. The previous record was 14:43.74 set in 2014. Christ also earned All-NSIC honors in the 10,000 meters with a runner-up finish on Saturday.
Mears won her first NSIC title of her career as well, taking the women's 800-meter run title with a personal-best time of 2:10.89. She won the race by nearly three seconds.
MSUM's 4x400 men's relay cruised to a time of 3:15.27 to win the title by nearly three seconds. That consisted of junior

Several Dragons earned All-NSIC honors with top three finishes on Saturday. For the men, sophomore
Brady Speicher was second in the 1,500-run in 3:55.33.
Olson was third in the 400-meter dash in 48.44 to earn All-NSIC honors. Senior
Spencer Ruebke was third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:12.27 to also earn all-conference honors.
For the Dragon women, senior
Tia Knight earned All-NSIC honors in two events. She was second in the 100-meter dash with a personal-best time of 12.07 and was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.21. Knight was also fifth in the 200-meter dash in 24.84 to give the Dragons four team points in that event.
Junior
Molly Montonye earned All-NSIC honors In the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:30.98. She was fifth in the 800 at 2:15.52.
Also for the men, Andri was fourth in the 400-meter dash in 48.58 with senior
Matt Loehr sixth in 49.04. Senior
Jason Dowell was fifth in the 1,500-meter run in 3:58.01. Freshman
Josh Young was fifth in the 800-meterrun in 1:55.62 and seventh in the 1,500 meters in 3:58.79. Sophomore
Brandon Selbig was eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:34.62.

Jasmine Nelson and Mears, was fourth in 3:56.21. MSUM's 4x100 relay was sixth in 48.03. That consisted of Knight, Nelson, freshman

Caroline Jansen was seventh in the women's triple jump in 37-8 1/2 while
MaKenzie Smith was eighth in the 5,000 meters in 17:52.02.
The Dragons will learn on Tuesday which runners will qualify for the outdoor national meet.
