MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead athletic department has announced the 2015 inductees to the Dragon Sports Hall of Fame. The 2015 class will be inducted on Oct. 16 at the Comstock Memorial Ballroom on the MSUM campus.
"The committee did their work and ultimately made some very difficult decisions," said MSUM athletic director
Doug Peters. "The end result is a very deserving Hall of Fame class that highlights the fantastic history of Dragon Athletics."
The Hall of Fame class was selected by the Dragon Hall of Fame Committee. With a record number of nominees, the committee spent considerable time reviewing, discussing and ultimately voting on the on the inductees. The committee incudes Karin Schumacher,
Tammy Blake, Fred Dahnke, MaryAnn Donnay, Ron Masanz,
Karla Nelson, Ross Fortier, and Larry Scott.
The MSUM women's soccer program will also be recognized as part of the event. The 2015 season is the 20th anniversary of the start of the soccer program at MSUM.
The ceremony will be held on Oct. 16 at the Comstock Memorial Union, Ballroom located on the MSU Moorhead campus. A social with a cash bar will begin at 5:30 p.m. with the dinner and program beginning at 6:30 p.m. Register online at tickets.mnstate.edu or contact

Brad BeckBrad Beck (Football, 1973-76)Joins father Bill Beck in Dragon Hall of Fame. . . One of three Beck sons to letter at Moorhead State. . . Named to All-NIC team in 1977 as a senior, rushed for 1,000-yards with 10 touchdowns. . . Reached the 100-yard rushing plateau seven times with career highwater marks of 166 yards against Southwest State in 1975 and 1976. . . Finished 19th in the NCAA II in rushing in 1976 with 100.4 yard per game. . . Appleton native.
Ken BladowKen Bladow (Men's Cross-Country Coach)Served 13 seasons as head cross-country coach, produced five All-Americans, 28 all-conference runners and 20 all-district runners. . . Led Dragons to two conference championships and two NAIA District 13 Championships, credited with 22 meet victories as a coach. . . Developed 12 individual national qualifiers. . . Former coach at Moorhead State Campus High School, longtime member of HPER faculty at Moorhead State.
Kristin Engeldorf (Women's Basketball, 1997-2001)

Still ranks first in field goal attempts, 3,183, sixth in scoring, 1,379, assists, 335, and steals, 150. . . ninth in free throw attempts, and 10th in field goals made, 505, free throws made, 301, and three-point field goals made, 68. . . North St. Paul native. . .
Chris EricsonChris Ericson (Men's Track and Field/Cross Country, 1990-93)Seven-time All-American in track and cross country at Moorhead State, recorded two third place finishes at national meets and seven top fives overall…Finished second in the three mile at the 1991 NAIA Indoor, third in the two mile and sixth in the 10,000 at the 1993 NAIA Indoor. . . Paul Lykken (Men's Track and Field, 1982-85)
Paul LykkenEarned NAIA All-American laurels with a fourth place finish in the javelin at the 1985 NAIA National Championships, posted second best throw of 264-7 in all divisions. . . MSUM record holder in javelin, two-time conference champion. . . Still continues to compete in regional and national senior events.
Ron MonsegueRon Monsegue (Men's Track and Field, 1966-68)Sprinting legend at Moorhead State, helped built foundation for award-winning Dragon track program. . . Set batch of school sprint records. . . Decorated with All-American honors in both 1967 and 1968. . . One of three ex-Dragons to compete in the Olympics, ran in 1968 Olympic Games for Trinidad. . . Dave Schellhase (Men's Basketball Coach, 1975-82, 1987-98)
Dave SchellhaseCoached men's basketball for 18 seasons at MSUM. . . First coach to lead Dragons to national tournament in 1980. . . Dragon's all-time leader in men's basketball coaching wins at 298. . . Won two conference titles at Moorhead State, named NIC Coach of the Year in 1980-81. . . Led MSUM to 13 trips to NAIA tournament appearances. . . Coached five All-Americans. . . National scoring champ and Academic All-American at Purdue, played professional basketball with the Chicago Bulls and later served as an assistant coach under ex-Dragon Marv Skaar before accepting head post at Moorhead State in 1975.
Banks SwanBanks Swan (Wrestling, 1960-63)Early wresting legend at Moorhead State, helped set the tone for a remarkable era two follow. . . Two-time Northern Intercollegiate Conference Champion (1961 and 1962). . . Decorated with NAIA All-American honors for a runner-up finish at 115 pounds as the 1961 NAIA National Championships. . . Launched successful teaching and coaching career after leaving Moorhead State. . . Native of Davenport, Iowa.
Lori Ulferts (Women's Basketball Coach, 1989-94)
Lori UlfertsEarned 1992 NSIC Coach of the Year honors. . . Appointed head women's coach at Moorhead State in 1989, logged a 81-62 coaching record in five seasons as basketball boss of the Dragons. . . Coached three All-Americans, led MSU to back-to-back NIC and NAIA District 13 finishes in 1991-92 (23-7) and 992-93 (20-9). . . Later served as head coach at St. Cloud State. . . Four-sport letterwinner at University of North Dakota. . . Graduate of Warren High School.
