Meet ResultsBROOKINGS, S.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams claimed six wins at the South Dakota State D2 Open held on Friday at the Sanford-Jackrabbit Athletic Complex in Brookings, S.D. Junior
Emily Mammenga won two events to pace the women, who won four overall, while senior
Kenny Andri and freshman
Kevin Norville picked up wins for the men.
Emily MammengaMammenga had a big day for the MSUM women in her home state of South Dakota. She won the mile in 5:11.87 and also claimed the 1,000-meter run in 3:02.91, which is the fastest time in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference so far this season (adjusted for track size).
Sophomore
Caroline Jansen had a solid day. winning the long jump in 18-3 3/4, which is the third-best jump in the NSIC this season. She also took second in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.30.
Junior
Alissa Mears won the 400 in 58.45, which is third-best in the NSIC this season (adjusted for track size).
On the men's side, Andri continued his strong start to the indoor season with a win in the 400 in 49.14. He is ranked third in the NSIC in that event.
Norville led a 1-2-3 finish in the triple jump with a winning effort of 45-0 1/2. Sophomore Steve Adjokatcher was second in the triple jump in 13.07 followed by junior
Devin Strack in third at 12.89.
Sophomore
Judith Robinson had a solid day for the women, taking second in the 200 in 26.33 and fourth in 400 in 1:00.70. Freshman Ki'Arah Johnson was fourth in the 200 in 26.37 and fifth in the 60-meter dash in 8.09.
MSUM's 4x400 relay was third in 4:09.12. That consisted of Robinson, freshman
Katie Olson, Mears and Johnson. Sophomore
Katrina Mellegard was third in the weight throw with an effort of 53-7 1/2 while sophomore
Shayla Munson was third in the shot put with a 40-10 1/2 toss.
Freshman
Stephanie Koetter was third in high jump at (5-1) while
Taylor Kaufman was third in the pole vault at 7-5 3/4.
For the men, senior
Andrew Werk was second in the weight throw in 49-4 1/2. Sophomore
Jordan Feder was third in the high jump in 6-2 3/4, while
Adam Hanson was second in the 60-meter hurdles in 9.00.
Senior Charles Liedman was fourth in the 200-meter dash in 22.82. MSUM's 4x400 relay, consisting of Pangerl, Andri, Liedman and Schonnesen, was third in 3:27.11
MSUM will compete at two meets next weekend. The Dragons will send a contingent of runners to the Jack Johnson Classic at the University of Minnesota on Jan. 29-30, and also will send athletes to the Cobber Duals hosted by Concordia on Jan. 30.
