MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Sophomore
Brian Huber's runner-up finish in the long jump led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the first day of the Jack Johnson Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota on Friday in Minneapolis, Minn.
Huber finished second in the long jump invitational division with an effort of 23-10. The sophomore is tied for second in the nation in the event with a 24-11, a mark he posted at the Bison Classic on Jan. 16.
Two individuals competed on Friday for the Dragon women. Sophomore
Bailey Reiner was 13th in the long jump at 16-9 3/4, while sophomore
Caroline Jansen was 16th in the women's pentathlon with a score of 3,108 points. Her best event was the long jump, where she was seventh at 17-3 1/4.
MSUM will have athletes compete at the Jack Johnson Classic on Saturday and also will have a contingent of individuals at the Cobber Duals hosted by Concordia-Moorhead starting at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday.
