Jack Johnson Classic ResultsCobber DualsCobber Duals Team ScoresMOORHEAD, Minn. -- Senior
Kenny Andri ran the fastest 400 time in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season to lead the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the Jack Johnson Classic held Saturday in Minneapolis, Minn. MSUM also sent a contingent of athletes to the Cobber Duals in Moorhead, Minn., on Saturday.
Junior
MaKenzie Smith won the second section of the 3,000-meter run to pace the MSUM women.
No team scores were kept.
Andri continued his strong indoor season with a third-place finish in the 400-meter dash championship division. He ran a time of 49.57, beating runners from Division I schools St. Louis, South Dakota and North Dakota State. That is the best time in the NSIC this season.
Junior
Brady Speicher had a good run in the mile. Competing in the championship division, Speicher was fourth in 4:13.60, which is the best time in the NSIC this season and 10th-best in the nation.
Sophomore
Brian Huber was fourth in the high jump in 6-4 3/4, a day after finishing second in the long jump.
Cody Christ was 10th in the 3,000-meter run (championship) in 8:48.45. Senior
Andrew Werk had a season-best in the weight throw with a toss of 50-8.
For the Dragon women, Smith won the 3,000-meter run (section 2) in 10.31.04. Freshman
Marissa Carlson was sixth in the mile in 5:11.84
Junior
Alissa Mears was 12th in the 800 run (championship division) in 2:24.31
Cobber DualsA win by the women's 4x200 relay led the way for the Dragon track and field teams at the Cobber Duals on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn.
The Dragon men finished 8-1 on the day in duals while the women were 4-9. Both Dragon teams had several individuals competing at the Jack Johnson Classic as well.
For the women, MSUM's 4x200 relay won in 1:47.91. That consisted of sophomore
Judith Robinson, freshman
Katie Olson, sophomore
Katie Holzheimer and freshman Ki'Arah Johnson.
Freshman
Stephanie Koetter was third in the high jump in 5-3 ¼ while freshman Emily Waletzko was fifth in the weight throw in 46-8 3/4. Robinson was fifth in the 60-meter dash in 8.01.
For the Dragon men, senior
Charles Tiedman was third in the 200-meter dash in 23.23.
Junior
Adam Hanson was fourth in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.83.
Senior
Jordan Pangerl was fifth in the 60-meter dash in 7.20 while senior
Tyler Hennen was fifth in the mile in 4:39.01.
MSUM has a pair of meets on the schedule on Feb. 6. MSUM will compete at the Cobber Open in Moorhead and also compete at the Ted Nelson Classic hosted by Minnesota State in Mankato, Minn.
