MOORHEAD, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead women's tennis coach Oliver Summers has announced the addition of two recruits for the 2017-18. Joining the Dragons in 2017-18 will be Swenne Albert of Amersfoort, Netherlands and Julia Geske of Rochester, Minn.

Here is a look at the two Dragon signees:

Swenne Albert (Amersfoort, Netherlands/Meridiaan College 't Hooghe Landt,
Three-time national badminton champion in the Netherlands (no high school sports offered)…regional tennis singles champion under 18 at the age of 15…played in KNLTB District Masters…won 21 tournaments in career.

"Swenne is a tall, strong, athletic tennis player who has a big game, a great forehand and enormous experience on the tennis court," Summers said. "Her footwork is outstanding and she has great technique. Swenne will make a huge impact on our squad."

Julia Geske (Rochester, Minn./John Marshall HS)
Two-time state participant…Section 1AA champion in 2016…finished with 19-3 singles record in 2016…was 25-3 and state quarterfinalist in 2015…three-time all-conference…two-time team captain…five-year letterwinner in tennis.

"I've followed Julia's career for the last couple of years and have seen how much she's grown as a tennis player after twice making it to state in Minnesota AA singles," Summers said. "She is a great athlete, has an amazing work ethic and isn't afraid to compete against anyone. Julia will be a leader and help take our team to the next level.
