Dakota Classic Results
FARGO, N.D. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams opened the indoor season with five wins at the Dakota Classic hosted by North Dakota State on Friday in Fargo, N.D. The Dragon men picked up three wins on the day while
Caroline Jansen picked up two victories to lead the women.
The Dragon distance corps did not compete at the meet.
For the men, freshman
Zach Sweep won the 60-meter hurdles in 8.62 with
Adam Hanson third in 8.96.
Junior
Brian Huber won the long jump in 23-11 with sophomore
Jonas Matzen fourth in 20-8 1/2.
Matzen won the high jump in 6-6.
Senior
Devin Strack was second in the triple jump at 45-9. Sophomore
Evan Carlson was third in the 400 in 52.74 and fourth in the 200 in 23.54.
For the women, Jansen had a big day. She won the long jump at 18-10 3/4 with junior
Bailey Reiner third at 18-5 1/4. Jansen also won the triple jump at 38-7 1/2 with freshman
Nicole Kurtti taking third in 35-3 1/4. Jansen added a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles as well (9.24).
Kurtti was second in the high jump at 5-1. Sophomore Ki'Arah Johnson was fourth in the 60-meter dash in 8.04 while senior
Katie Holzheimer was fourth in 27.08.
MSUM is off until Jan. 14, 2017 when it competes at the Bison Classic at NDSU.
