Cobber Open ResultsMOORHEAD, Minn. – Two wins by sophomore
Caroline Jansen led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead women's track and field team at the Cobber Open on Saturday in Moorhead, Minn. The Dragon women finished with three wins overall while the men claimed four victories on the day.
Jansen was the lone double-winner on the day for MSUM. She captured the 60-meter hurdles in 9.30 and added a win in the triple jump with an effort of 35-7 3/4.
The Dragons' 4x200 relay was also victorious, taking the win in 1:49.26. That consisted of
Katie Holzheimer, freshman
Katie Rohr, sophomore
Mady Vaudrin and freshman
Kiarah Johnson.
Junior
Adam Hanson won 60-meter hurdles in 8.90 while junior
Mitchell Ruebke was fourth in 9.32. Freshman
Kevin Norville won the triple jump in 46-1 1/4 with junior
Devin Strack third in 41-8 3/4.
Freshman Jonas Matzen won the high jump in 6-5 1/2 while senior
Andrew Werk won the weight throw with a toss of 55-8 1/4.
The Dragon women had several other solid performances. Sophomore
Bailey Reiner was second in the long jump in 16-10 1/2.
Kiarah Johnson was second in the 60-meter dash in 7.95 with sophomore
Caroline Jansen fourth in that race in 8.05.
Sophomore
Judith Robinson was second in the 200 in 26.29 with Holzheimer fourth in 27.08. Robinson added a fourth in the 400 in 1:01.23. Junior
Katrina Mellegard was third in the weight throw in 53-7 while
Stephanie Koetter was third in the high jump in 5-3 3/4.
For the Dragon men, sophomore
Brian Huber was second in the 60-meter dash while senior
Charles Tiedman was second in the 400 in 51.77.
MSUM will compete at the Thundering Herd Classic on Feb. 12 and 13 in Fargo, N.D.
