Brian Huber is an All-American. The sophomore finished sixth in the men's long jump at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships on Friday in Pittsburg, Kan. in addition, junior
Brady Speicher advanced to the finals in the men's mile after an impressive performance in the prelims on Friday.
For Huber, it is his first All-American honor of his career and he is the first Dragon track and field athlete to earn the honor so far this season.
Huber recorded a jump of 24-6 1/2 on his first attempt, which was the second-best of that round. That effort proved to be his best of the day and ultimately placed him sixth, good enough for All-American honors.
Speicher is headed to the finals in the mile after a strong run in the prelims on Friday. Speicher ran a time of 4:05.18, which was second-fastest in the prelims and just .27 seconds behind Oliver Aitchison of Adams State. Speicher, who won the NSIC title in both the mile and 800, will run at 4:55 p.m. Central time on Saturday in the finals of the mile.

Molly Montonye, who has battled an injury throughout the indoor season, competed in the women's mile prelims and finished in 11th, missing out on a trip to Saturday's finals. Montonye ran a time of 4:56.35, which was less than two seconds from the final qualifying spot.
