Meet Results
MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams claimed 12 wins at the Cobber Twilight meet held on Tuesday at Concordia's Jake Christiansen Track. The Dragon women, who had seven events, won the meet with 158 points while the men, who won five events, were second at 119.
Sophomore
Caroline Jansen was a double winner for MSUM. She claimed the 100-meter hurdles in 15.04 and tied for the win with Mary's Faith Kjelstup in the 100-meter dash in 12.43.
Junior
Alissa Mears won the 400 in 59.50, with freshman
Marissa Carlson third in 1:02.86. Sophomore
Judith Robinson won the 200-meter dash in 25.56 with junior
Katie Holzheimer second in 26.37. Sophomore
Bailey Reiner won the long jump at 17-8.
Freshman
Alicia Swenson won the 5,000-meter run in 19:06.82.
MSUM's 4x100 relay was victorious in 49.94. That consisted of freshman Ki'Arah Johnson, Robinson, Holzheimer and Reiner.
Junior
MaKenzie Smith was second in the 1,500-meter run in 4:45.88 while senior
Molly Strong was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 15.88.
MSUM went 1-2 in the 5,000-meter run as Josh Ernst won in 15:28.25 with
Jay Biwer second in 15:48.71.
MSUM went 1-2-3 in the high jump. Freshman Jonas Matzen was the winner at 6-4, followed by
Jordan Feder in second in 6-0 and
Mitchell Ruebke third at 5-8.
Freshman Brett Lawrence won the 400-meter dash in 49.78, which is the ninth-fastest time in the NSIC this season.
MSUM's 4x100 relay won in 43.14. That consisted of senior
Charles Tiedman, sophomore
Brian Huber, junior
Devin Strack and senior Joran Pangerl. MSUM's 4x400 relay was victorious in 3:30.10. That consisted of Pangerl, Lawrence,
Miguel Perez and junior
Adam Hanson.
Huber was second in the 100 in 10.94, finishing only behind former Dragon standout Derek Bredy, who was competing unattached and won in 10.73. Hanson was second in the 400-meter hurdles in 59.20. Strack was second in the triple jump at 45-10, which was a season-best and the eighth-best jump in the NSIC this season.
MSUM will send
Brian Huber and the men's distance medley relay to the Drake Relays this week. The Dragons will also have athletes compete at the Al Cassell Relays in Jamestown, N.D., on Saturday.
