Final Results
MARSHALL, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams captured four individual titles at Day 2 of the Mustang Open on Saturday in Marshall, Minn.
Senior
Brady Speicher started the day off right for the Dragons capturing the men's 1,500 meter title and setting a facility record with a winning time of 4:00.28. Freshmen
Nadir Yusuf (4:03.07) and
Nick Marshall (4:06.76) were right behind finishing third and fourth respectively.
In the field events, sophomore
Jonas Matzen claimed another victory for the Dragons, taking first in the high jump at 6-6.
On the women's side, senior
Molly Montonye started the final outdoor season of her Dragon career by winning the 1,500 meters in 4:43.08, which was also setting a facility record. Sophomore
Marissa Carlson was third in 4:52.62.
Junior
Caroline Jansen continued her busy weekend winning the long jump in 18-6 1/2 inches. She also added a fourth-place finish in the 100 hurdles in 13.83. Junior
Bailey Reiner wasn't far behind Jansen in the long jump placing third with a leap of 17-11 1/2.
Sophomore
Kiarah Johnson was second in the 100-meter dash in 12.34 Junior
Judith Robinson was fourth in the 200 (25.69) and sixth in the 400 (58.73). Freshman
Summer Storm was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:07.96, while senior
Katrina Mellegard was fifth in the hammer throw at 167-10.
The Dragons are back in action next weekend at the Al Bortke Open hosted by the University of Mary.
