MOORHEAD, Minn. — Sophomore cross country runner Nadir Yusuf and junior volleyball player Monica Vega have been named the Minnesota State University Moorhead/Courtyard by Marriott Athletes of the Week for the week of Sept. 4-10.

Yusuf led the MSUM men to the third straight title at the Dragon Twilight meet. MSUM won the meet by two points over Mary. Yusuf finished a college-best second overall — trailing only Dragon alumni Cody Christ at the finish line. Yusuf's 6K time was 18:43.3 and was the best of all college runners at the meet.

Vega reached a career milestone at the Quincy tournament, surpassing 1,000 career digs during Saturday's action. Vega is now at 1,020 career digs and is setting her sights on the top 10 in school history.  Vega has 72 digs in four matches at the Quincy tournament and is third in the NSIC in digs per set.
