BURNSVILLE, Minn. — Minnesota State University Moorhead freshman middle blocker Kylie Kanwischer has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Week in volleyball.

Kanwischer had an outstanding week defensively to help the Dragons earn their first two NSIC wins of the season over Minot State University and University of Mary. The Fargo, N.D., native had an NSIC high of 15 total blocks last week, averaging 2.14 blocks per set.

The freshman posted a career-high of 10 block assists in the 3-1 win over U-Mary. Kanwischer is third in the league with 34 total blocks this season, averaging 1.24 per set.
