MOORHEAD, Minn. – Sophomore volleyball player Kaylyn Jenkins and senior football player Abe Roehrich have been named the Minnesota State University Moorhead/Courtyard by Marriott Athletes of the Week for the week of August 28-Sept. 3.

Jenkins, a sophomore hitter from Hudson, Wis., started all four matches for MSUM this past weekend at the Minot State Classic, recording 54 kills and 12 blocks over the course of the weekend, helping the Dragons to a 4-0 weekend.  She had a career-high 19 kills in MSUM's five-set win over Montana State-Billings to open the season.

Roehrich, a senior linebacker from Stanley, N.D., recorded a sack and a 48-yard fumble return for a touchdown on Saturday to help the Dragons to a 38-7 season-opening win over Augustana (SD). He also recorded one solo tackle and had another assisted tackle in the win. He finished the game with 1.5 tackles for loss.
