VERMILLION, S.D. — A win by senior
Josh Young led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the University of South Dakota Invitational on Wednesday in Vermillion, S.D. The meet was the outdoor debut for MSUM.
No team scores were kept. In addition to MSUM and USD, teams competing included North Dakota State, South Dakota State, U-Mary, St. Cloud State, Sioux Falls, Dickinson State, Wayne State and Mount Marty.
Young captured the men's 800 in 1:54.32, which is second fastest in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference so far this outdoor season.
Senior
Judith Robinson was second in the women's 200 in 25.14 and third in the 400 in 56.79. Robinson's time in the 400 was a personal-best.
MSUM's women's 4x100 relay was fourth in 49.15. That consisted of

Mady Vaudrin and
Monica Smith. Junior
Kiarah Johnson was sixth in the 100 in 12.48 while freshman
Kacia Guisinger was seventh in the high jump at 4-11. Junior
Marissa Carlson was eighth in the 800 in 2:19.26.

For the men, sophomore
Nick Marshall was fifth in the 5,000 in 15:49.73. Sophomore
Logan Spooner was sixth in the 1,500 in 4:02.88. Senior
Brandon Selbig was sixth in the 3,000 steeplechase in 9:49.50. Junior
Jonas Matzen is eighth in the javelin throw at 168-2.
MSUM will send athletes to the Mt. Sac Relays, the Bryan Clay Invitational and the Beach Invitational in California on April 19, 20 and 21. The Dragons will also send a contingent of athletes to the Northern State Twilight on April 20.
