FARGO, N.D. — Strong performances by senior
Emily Waletzko, sophomore
Chris Cook and sophomore
Logan Storm led the way for the Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams at the North Dakota State Thundering Herd Classic Saturday in Fargo, N.D.
Chris Cook had a personal-best in the high jump.
Senior
Emily Waletzko threw another NCAA provisional toss in the weight throw with an effort of 57-8 1/4. She placed fourth in that event — placing only behind three Division I athletes from NDSU — and the throw is 15th-best in Division II this season.
Sophomore
Chris Cook was third in the high jump at 6-6 1/4 which was a personal-best effort and is in the top 31 in Division II. Sophomore
Logan Storm was second in the men's pole vault at 14-5 1/4.
The MSUM women had a good day in the high jump. Freshman
Caitlin Pritchett tied for third in the high jump at 5-2 1/4 while freshman Sophia Sowada and junior
Nicole Kurtti tied for fifth at 5-2 1/4.
Junior
Zach Sweep was fifth in the men's 60-meter hurdles at 8.60. In the prelims he had the best time at 8.45. Junior
Tobias Boegel had a personal-best time of 23.07 in the 200
Junior
Summer Storm was fourth in the women's 400 meter dash at 1:03.31. Freshman
Sydney Bahls was sixth in the pole vault at 10-2.
MSUM has two events on the schedule for next weekend. The team will send a contingent of athletes to the South Dakota State Invitational on Friday and also will have athletes competing at the Cobber Indoor on Saturday in Moorhead.
