MOORHEAD, Minn. — The Minnesota State University Moorhead track and field teams picked up 14 wins at the Cobber Indoor Open which was held on Saturday at Concordia College in Moorhead. Senior
Emily Waletzko and sophomore
Chris Cook both recorded personal-bests on the day to lead the Dragons.

Waletzko won the women's shot put at 42-11 3/4 and added a win in the weight throw at 57-11 3/4, which was a personal-best and fourth-best in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference this season.
Cook won the men's high jump at 6-7, which was a personal-best and top mark in the NSIC this season.
Senior
Kiarah Johnson won the women's 60-meter dash in 8.04 with
Baylie Narum third in 8.32. Senior
Marissa Carlson won the women's 1,000 in a time of 3:13.07. Junior
Summer Storm won the 60-meter hurdles in 9.78.
MSUM swept the top five spots in the high jump with sophomore
Kacia Guisinger winning at 5-3 1/4, which is third-best in the NSIC this season. Freshman
Sophia Sowada was second at 5-2 1/4 while junior
Nicole Kurtti was third at 5-1. Freshmen
Caitlin Pritchett (5-1) and
Tessa Schroeder (4-11 3/4) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Sophomore
Anna St. Catherine won the pole vault at 10-5 1/2 with freshman
Sydney Bahls taking third at 9-5 1/4
Freshman
Ty Dawkins won the men's 60-meter dash in 7.08 with freshman
Shaquiel Higgs taking third at 7.19.
Junior
Nadir Yusuf won the mile at 4:29.37. Freshman
Carson Speicher was second at 4:29.49 while
Hunter Kjelshus was third at 4:29.54. Junior
Zach Sweep won the 60-meter hurdles at 8.44.
MSUM's 4x400 relay, consisting of senior
Evan Carlson, Dawkins, Higgs and sophomore
Jacob Minnick, won in 3:31.54. Junior
Tanner Berby won the weight throw at 50-10 3/4 while sophomore
Logan Storm won the pole vault at 14-10 1/4.
Speicher was second in the 1,000-meter in 2:40.45 while
Jay Biwer was third at 2:41.06. Sophomore
Tyler Berby was second in the triple jump at 42-11 1/2
Freshman
Baylie Narum was second in the long jump at 16-6 1/2. Kurtti was second at 34-1 1/4 in the triple jump with
Tessa Schroeder third at 34-0 3/4.
MSUM will compete at the University of North Dakota Indoor Open on Jan. 25-26 in Grand Forks, N.D.
