Oliver Summers is in his eighth season as the MSUM head women's tennis coach in 2019-20. He is 72-55 in seven previous seasons, including 32-8 going back to the 2018 season.

Armed with a strong tennis pedigree, Summers has a goal to build the Dragon program into a dynasty.

Following up a successful 2018 campaign, MSUM continued that momentum in 2019, going 16-4 overall in what was perhaps the best season in school history. The Dragons advanced to the NSIC Tournament finals for a second straight year, finished second in the regular-season standings which was their highest finish ever. Sophomore Julia Geske was All-NSIC first team in singles while sophomore Lorissa Yuen was All-NSIC second team and freshman Rachel Nguyen was All-NSIC third team. Geske and junior Olivia Keelin were All-NSIC first team in doubles.

In 2018, MSUM had a great season, going 16-4 and reaching the finals of the NSIC tournament for the first time in school history. Freshman Julia Geske earned All-NSIC First Team honors in singles while sophomore Olivia Keelin and Geske earned second-team honors in doubles. Sophomore Alexis Konecne earned honorable mention honors in singles and doubles.

In 2017, MSUM finished a strong 12-8 and advanced to the NSIC tournament semifinals. Jessamy Jones earned All-NSIC First Team honors in singles while Keelin was named to the second game.

In 2016, MSUM finished 7-4 in the NSIC and advanced to the semifinals of the NSIC tournament for a second straight year.

MSUM finished 10-10 a year ago and advanced to the NSIC tournament semifinals. The Dragons finished third in the league with an 8-3 record, led by 13-win seasons in singles from senior Andrea Rognlien and sophomores Jessamy Jones.

The 2013-14 season saw MSUM go 6-10 and qualify for the NSIC tournament for the first time in Summers' tenure. The Dragons were a solid 5-6 in the conference season.

In Summers' first year as MSUM (2012-13), the Dragons went 3-10 overall and 3-9 in the NSIC. The Dragons won their final match of the year to end on a strong note, beating Minnesota Crookston 5-4.  Freshman Morgan Smith led the way with a 6-7 record.

He has spent the past 16 years as the head tennis pro at Courts Plus Fitness Center in Fargo, N.D., where he is now the tennis director.  Summers is in charge of teaching private and group lessons, supervising and managing staff, managing and promoting USTA and other tennis leagues, organizing Club and USTA sanctioned tournaments. Summers also served as the Davies Assistant High School Varsity Coach.

A graduate of the University of Portsmouth in England, Summers played at the No. 1 spot for the tennis team.  He was given an opportunity to compete in tennis tournament throughout Europe and continued to play competitively beyond college.
