Jordyn Wallenborn tallied her fourth goal of the season to lead the Minnesota State University Dragons to a 1-0 win over the Upper Iowa Peacocks on
Saturday.
Wollenburg made the games only goal at 65:16 in the second period from 12-yards out. She was assisted by
Jena Reed, who picked up her first assist of the year.
Dragon's goalkeeper,
Alison Wanner played the entire 90 minutes and made nine saves. MSUM out-shot UI in the second half, 7-5 but did not take the most shots in the game as the Peacocks had 14 and the Dragons had nine.
The Dragons head into
Sunday with a 1-0 record in the Northern
Sun Intercollegiate Conference and have an overall record of 4-1-1.
MSUM will step on the field again on
Sunday as they will head north of Iowa and face Winona State at 1 p.m.
