BISMARCK, N.D. - The University of Mary Marauders redeemed their early season loss to the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons on Saturday evening as they continued their hot streak at home, winning 74-58.
The Dragons took the non-conference game between the two teams to open the season on Nov. 15, 74-67. MSUM moves to 7-13 overall with a 4-9 tally in league play. The Marauders are now 13-7 overall and are 9-4 in the conference.
The teams began the game trading the lead or tied until the Dragons wen ton a 9-0 run that ended at the 11:11 mark in the first half. MSUM led by eight, 21-13 as all nine points came off of three points, two by
Jake Driscoll and the final by
Brent Egan.
The game was tied two minutes later as three-three pointers came from the Marauders half court. The Dragons trailed 29-30 at half.
The game was tied for the firth time with 12:14 left to play before the home team went on a 13-3 run to take the ten point lead with the clock at 9:18. Mary would keep the momentum and take the win.
Driscoll led hte team with 16 points, the only Dragon in double figures.
Dennis Williamson and
Xavier Reed each had eight points.
The Marauders had four players in double figures and only six players score in the game. Eric Erdmann scored 21 to lead the field.
MSUM will complete their four-game road stand at Southwest Minnesota State and MSU Mankato on Feb. 5 and 6, respectively. Each game is scheduled to tip-off at 8 p.m.
