BISMARCK, N.D. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons women's basketball team completed their weekend NSIC-sweep on Saturday as they collected a 66-61 road-win over the University of Mary Marauders. The Dragons collected a 73-67 win on Friday night over Northern State (S.D.).
The No. 4 regionally ranked Dragons move to 15-5 overall and 9-4 in league play after the sweep. It was the first time since the opening weekend of league play that the Dragons came up with a sweep, both of which have happened on the road. The Marauders are now 8-12 and 4-9 in the NSIC.
Angie Jetvig led the Dragons with 15 points, coming off the bench. She also had seven boards.
Meghan Rettke was one rebound away from her 13th double-double of the season, as she marked 14 points and and nine rebounds.
Brittany Mayclin also tallied double-digits for the second night in a row with 11 points.
Krista Opheim had seven assists, six points and four rebounds in the game.
The Dragons capitalized on the Marauders faults as they scored 16 points off of turnovers in the first half. MSUM also had only 10 turnovers, tying their season low, as the Marauders committed 16.
MSUM will play two more road games before returning home for the Go Pink and Alumni weekend, Feb. 12-13. The Dragons will travel to Marshall, Minn., to face Southwest Minnesota State on Feb. 5 and to will face MSU Mankato on the 6th. Both games are scheduled for 6 p.m.
