ST. CLOUD, Minn. – The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons showed improvements in the second dual of the season but could not break through St. Cloud State's tough speed as the Huskies won, 204.5-89.5.
The Dragons showed improvement from freshman
Laura Goll who swam eight seconds faster in the 500-yard freestyle on Saturday than she did on Friday evening. Her time on Saturday was 5:43.86.
Claire Caron continued to lead the Dragons as she won the 200-yard individual medley, took second in the 50-yard butterfly and third in the 100-yard butterfly. Her top time of 2:17.46 came in her final event of the day. Caron's time in the 50-yard was 27.99 and in the 100-yard was 1:00.85.
The Dragon 200-yard freestyle relay team of
Jenna Thompson,
Amanda Walters,
Megan Rieland and
Jessica Doar won the event with a time of 1:41.99.
Freshman
Shayna Dugger showed strength on the one-meter and three-meter diving boards as she finished third and second, respectively. On the short board she scored 218.19 points while scoring 237.30 on the three-meter board, competing for the first time at the collegiate level.
MSU Moorhead will host Northern State at Alex Nemzek Swimming Pool at 6 p.m. on Oct. 22.
