MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State Moorhead Dragon volleyball team (12-9, 8-5 NSIC) will travel south on Friday and Saturday this weekend to face Winona State and Upper Iowa in NSIC action. The Dragons will face the Warriors on Friday at 7 p.m. and the match against the Peacock's on Saturday will start at 4 p.m.

The Dragons come off of a week where they played one match in the past 14 days, a three-set win over Minnesota Crookston where
Laura Tvrdik had a match-high 11 kills.
In the win,
Heidi Lensing and
Kayla Handevidt each had eight. Lensing led the team on defense with ten digs in the match.
Leigh Splittstoesser had 37 assists in the match.

Winona State returns home for four games, the first two this weekend. WSU will play MSU Moorhead at 7 p.m. on Friday and host Minnesota, Crookston Saturday at 4 p.m. Both games will be played at McCown Gymnasium in Winona.
Seven of Winona State's 12 NSIC games have been played against teams ranked in the top-25.
Warrior defensive specialist Shannon McGowan has earned NSIC Player of the Week honors twice this season. She earned the honor after the season-opening NMU Tournament and then again after wins over Mary and Northern State.

After a pair of tough road matches last weekend, the Peacock Volleyball team returns to Dorman Gym in Fayette this weekend to open a four-match Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference home stand which extends through the first weekend in November.
On Friday, the Peacocks play host to the Golden Eagles of UM, Crookston in a 7 p.m. match. Then on Saturday, Upper Iowa entertains the Dragons of MSU Moorhead inside Dorman Gym at 4 p.m.
Looking ahead, UIU will host a pair of NSIC matches next weekend to close out the home portion of the season before the Peacocks close out the 2010 season by making return trips to Crookston, Minn. and Moorhead, Minn. on November 12 and 13.
