FAYETTE, Iowa - The Upper Iowa Peacocks picked up their fifth NSIC win on Saturday afternoon as they took a four-set match from the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon volleyball team despite being out-hit by the visitors, .268 to .263.
The Dragons, now 12-11 overall and 8-7 in the league had 61 kills in the match with three players in double digits.
Heidi Lensing led the attack with 19 kills, a season high, hitting .289 for the day.
Laura Tvrdik had 16 kills hitting .455 in the match.
Kayla Handevidt had 12 kills and also had two service aces in the match.
Senior
Leigh Splittstoesser had 43 assists in the match, she also had a team high 14 digs. The team also picked up seven total blocks, two came solo from freshman
Ashley Feldman, who had four block assists.
The Peacocks snuck by the Dragons as they had 56 kills, which was just enough to take the win. They picked up their eight win of the year.
MSU Moorhead will return home on Tuesday as they will face Southwest Minnesota State at 8:05 p.m.
