MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead men's basketball team (1-0) will travel to Mayville, N.D. on Friday for their first road test of the 2010-11 season to face the Mayville State Comets (3-0) at 7:30 p.m.

THE DRAGONS
The Dragons won their opening game of the 2010-11 season with a 81-68 tally over the Dickinson State Blue Hawks on Sunday.
Junior transfer
Charlie Chapman with 20 points, going 7-for-14 from the field, and 5-of-10 from the three-point line, led the Dragons.
Alex Novak had 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Dennis Williamson had 15 points and nine boards.
THE MAYVILLE STATE COMETS
The Comets are a perfect 3-0 this year, taking two big wins over Canadian Mennonite University and most recently, taking a one point overtime-win over Dordt (Iowa) at home, 99-98.
In the win over Dordt, the Comets found themselves down by two with seconds left in the game as Shavontae Samuels drove down the court and hit Bryen Pyles in the corner, who drained a three-pointer to claim the win for the Comets. Trevor Wolterstorff led MSU with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Austin Katje finished with 19 points and eight boards. Jordan Vogel had 17 points and six rebounds.
On the season, the team is led by Saumels who averages 23.3 points per game and 6.3 rebounds per game. Jiles Wiley is averaging 14.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
THE SERIES
The Dragons lead the all-time series 65-41. The Dragons took the last meeting 81-72 in Mayville on Dec. 29, 2008.

The Dragons will return to Moorhead on Tuesday, but will not play at home as they will go across the street to play the Concordia Cobbers at 7 :30 p.m. This will be the first game where Head Coach
Chad Walthall will return to coach against his alma mater.
