MOORHEAD, Minn. - The Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon volleyball team took a five-set match from the Bemidji State Beavers on Friday night in Northern Sun action in a hard fought battle (14-25, 25-11, 26-24, 27-29, 15-13).
The Dragons had three athletes register kills in double figures with sophomore
Heidi Lensing leading the field with 22. She also had two service aces and 16 digs. Senior
Laura Tvrdik and freshman
Kayla Handevidt each had 12 in the match.
Tvrdik was one of MSUM's defensive leaders at the net with five block assists.
Meredith Egeland had one solo block and five block assists.
Leigh Splittstoesser and
Katy Ness each had 26 digs to lead the Dragons on defense. Splittstoesser also had 52 assists in the match.
MSU Moorhead will face Minnesota Duluth at 4 p.m. in Duluth, Minn. on Saturday.
